Benefits of IPL Skin Rejuvenation
Our advanced IPL treatments harness the power of cutting-edge technology, specifically the renowned Candela Medical’s Nordlys IPL device, recognised for its superior results, offering a range of benefits:
Minimal downtime
Unlike invasive treatments, IPL Skin Rejuvenation minimises discomfort and downtime. While you may experience mild redness post-treatment, it can be easily concealed with makeup, enabling you to return to your regular activities with confidence.
Anti-ageing benefits
By stimulating collagen production and increasing cell renewal, IPL Skin Rejuvenation helps diminish the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and sun damage, resulting in a more youthful and revitalised complexion.
Clear, radiant skin
IPL effectively targets a range of skin concerns, from sun spots to rosacea, by enhancing collagen production, lightening pigmentation, reducing inflammation, regulating oil flow, and shutting down unwanted vessels. The result is a complexion that is clear, glowing and radiant.
Enhanced results with injectables
IPL treatments perfectly complement cosmetic injectable treatments. While the most common injectables restore volume and reduce wrinkles, IPL enhances skin texture and tone, providing an even canvas. Together, they synergise to create natural, youthful results, elevating facial harmony and radiance.

IPL Skin Rejuvenation is a non-invasive cosmetic procedure that utilises Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) technology to address various skin concerns and imperfections. IPL emits a broad spectrum of light wavelengths, allowing it to target multiple skin issues simultaneously.
By delivering intense pulses of light into the skin, IPL therapy heats superficial blood vessels and pigmentation, stimulating collagen production and promoting skin renewal. This process effectively reduces the appearance of age spots, hyperpigmentation, facial redness, rosacea, active acne, fine lines, and wrinkles, resulting in a clearer and radiant complexion.
IPL Skin Rejuvenation is gentle and suitable for individuals seeking to improve the overall texture, tone, and appearance of their skin without downtime or invasive procedures.

In most cases, it's necessary to allow some time between IPL and injectable treatments, especially when targeting the same area. If you're receiving injectable treatments first, we generally recommend the following waiting periods before undergoing IPL treatment:
2 weeks after anti-wrinkle injections
4 weeks after dermal filler, skin boosters, bio-remodelling, bio-stimulators, and fat dissolving treatments
12 weeks after PDO threads.
Your clinician will guide you in spacing out your treatments appropriately during a consultation to ensure optimal results and safety.
-
IPL is suitable for individuals with various skin issues, including pigmentation, broken capillaries, sun damage, age spots, and other conditions. However, it typically works best for people with lighter skin tones.
During a Skin Consultation, your clinician will assess your skin type and customise a treatment plan to achieve your desired results.
-
This treatment is not suitable for individuals who:

Results can be seen immediately, peaking at two weeks post-treatment, and continue to improve for a month or more.
Generally a course of three to four treatments at three to four weekly intervals is recommended for optimal results, depending on your skin concerns.
-
If you are unsure if IPL is right for you we highly recommend first booking a Skin Consultation with a Dermal Therapist. They’ll assess your skin ensuring you are a suitable candidate and create a custom treatment plan which often includes a tailored prescription of homecare to help you get the best results from your treatments.

IPL treatment is generally well-tolerated by most individuals, with discomfort often described as moderate. During the procedure, you may experience a slight tingling sensation or a feeling similar to a rubber band snapping against the skin as the pulses of light are delivered. However, this discomfort is typically brief and tolerable for the majority of patients.
After the IPL session, you may notice some redness and warmth in the treated area, similar to a mild sunburn. While these sensations may persist for a short period, they typically subside within a few hours to a day post-treatment.
Your clinician will provide a cool compress through the treatment to minimise discomfort and provide a cold pack to go home with as well thorough aftercare instructions.
-
Yes, IPL can effectively treat some types of acne by targeting sebaceous glands to control oil production, destroying acne-causing bacteria, and stimulating collagen production to improve skin condition and reduce breakouts.
-
IPL offers a gentle, long-lasting solution for those suffering from rosacea by providing gradual and natural improvement to the skin's appearance. It targets unwanted redness, pigment, or unevenly toned areas, helping to diffuse redness, inflammation, prevent pustules, and improve overall skin tone.
-
While IPL Skin Rejuvenation is commonly used on the face, neck, décolletage, it can also be used on the arms, back, and hands to address various skin concerns and signs of ageing.
Our standard treatment time and pricing includes treatment of the full face, neck and décolletage, however, this can be customised to treat other areas of the body.

At Derm Haus Brisbane, we are proud to use Candela Medical’s Nordlys IPL device - a cutting edge, multi-application system.
What sets Nordlys apart from other IPL devices is its smart technology. It features a double filter that helps precisely target specific skin concerns without affecting surrounding areas unnecessarily.
In simpler terms, these filters ensure that the IPL treatment focuses exactly where it's needed, making it more effective and more comfortable compared to other IPL devices. This means a safer treatment, better results and less discomfort during the treatment process.
